If you’re wondering which red carpet is considered to be the most glamorous one then we must tell you that the Venice Film Festival is one of them. This year, we’re celebrating the 76th International Film Festival. With guests and celebrities arriving at the historic Palazzo del Cinema by boat, onlookers have been treated to display of elegant couture and designer evening wear.
Venice Film Festival is one of the world’s oldest film festivals alongside one of the Big Three film festivals which is the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival. The all three big film festival acclaimed for giving creators the artistic freedom to express themselves through film. The Venice Film Festival was founded in August 1932. From then to now the festival is setting new marks every year. All the screening takes place in the historic Palazzo del Cinema on the Lungomare Marconi. Till now, the festival continues to be one of the word’s most popular and latest-growing.
Venice’s opening screening held on Wednesday night and honor this year bestowed on French-Japanese production “The Truth”. Best dressed celebrities of the night were this movie’s co-stars Catherine Deneuve and Juliette Binochet. The wore the floor-length dress and sleeveless orange coat by Jean Paul Gaultier and the latter in a beaded silver satin gown by Armani Privé.
Martha Hunt, the model stunned in a feathered bodice and high-slit sheet skirt by Alberta Ferretti whereas actress Alessandra Mastronardi was every bit the festival hostess in a strapless tulle gown. Everyone from the Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana to Chinese actress Ni Ni all impressed in different shades of gold.
On the show, there were plenty of fashion statements too. Supermodel Man arrived in an eye-catching Valentino gown and Victoria’s Secret model Elsa Hosk turned heads in a figure-hugging halter neck number.
On Thursday evening, premieres for the much anticipated “Ad Astra” and “Marriage Story” screened with the stars of both movies turning up in style. Scarlett Johansson impressed in a custom sequinned gown by Celine while Laura Dern looked elegant in a dark green embroidered Gucci dress.
There will be more red carpets moments from today to September 7. When the festival wraps up. But true to form, it was a glamorous start to the world’s oldest Film Festival.
